  C&C Reborn | Reflective Water - Mods
  Posted by: JohnWE on 04-26-2009 @ 17:00

C&C Reborn, the ever present Renegade Mod has released some new updates. Most importantly is the addition of reflective water. How does that work in Renegade? I have no clue! Renegade is a DX7 or 8 (can't remember) game and reflective water was added in Direct X 9. It is an impressive achievement for Renegade.

They also have a new skin/model for the Orca Transport, Orca Bomber and the GDI Medic. Perhaps there will come a day when all can play this mod in all its glory.

In other news, Renegade has more people still playing it than Crysis does. Look at that stat when you're considering which FPS to make next, EA.

Visit Reborn's Site to view all the new pictures.

that water looks great.
The only reason more people play renegade than crysis is because less people can support crysis (I can use the 2nd lowest resolution, no AA, medium motion blur, and high detail) and also because Crysis has ***** multiplayer compared to Renegade, Cod4, Battlefield and so on...

Looks pretty impressive considering what your working with here. Isn't Renegade, like DX8?

Reborn isn't Renegade, and therefore not DX7/8. It's a standalone program based heavily off of Renegade, and at last beta release (Infantry Beta), required DX9.C to play.

Is it just me, or has this mod been in the works for around for ever? It was back in 2004, whereas a mod that looked somewhat like it was released, with vehicles and such...shame I can't find it now frown

The version that was mostly ready for release in 2006 has been *****canned, either due to legal issues or some other problems. The team has completely rebuilt the mod, even going so far as to make it a standalone game. I for one learned a valuable lesson from Blizzard Entertainment: Don't release a crappy half-finished product, no matter how long the finished product takes.

I'll be here waiting for the final releaseof this beautiful sequel to Renegade.

I wish that westwood (disbanded?) or whom ever made this game would give the modders the code (forgot the name) for improving the graphics. Although i am ****ing surprised that you guys pulled this off, nice work!
