C&C Red Alert 2 Soviet Units

Soviet Infantry and Vehicles

Soviet Infantry
Attack Dog
Dogs are very quick and have a good sight range. This makes them very useful to explore with in the beginning of the game. Set them to attack-move and head to a corner of the map. Otherwise, you can have these dogs wait around your base for paratroopers. Two or Three dogs can easily take out an entire drop. Also, you can use them to guard against spies, but usually you should be able catch the spies before they reach your base.

Conscript
The Conscript is the ultimate building garrisoning unit. They are cheap, quick to build, and do as much damage as other infantry inside buildings. However, they aren't good for much else. In the beginning of a game, you can send ten of them and if you can get past the enemy dogs, you can take out buildings quickly. Don't bother building these for anything else though.

Engineer
These units are great for three things. Capturing tech buildings, capturing enemy buildings and repairing your own buildings. They have no weapon, so you must defend them with the utmost care. Dogs work well against engineers. The good part is that the second the enginner enters the capturable structure, it will take it over instantly. The Engineer will not exit the structure though. If you plan carefully, you can borrow an enemy's base and win.

Flak Trooper
This is the Soviet infantry which attacks the air. It is slightly inaccurate, but when it hits, it can do a decent amount of damage. It does a medium amount of damage against infantry, but it is able to take out air units much more effectively. I suggest building Flak Tracks instead of these troops.

Tesla Trooper
These soldiers are equipped with a high voltage electricity weapon. They are slow, but they can't be run over by vehicles. Thus, they are very powerful against vehicles, and a few well placed Tesla Troopers can disrupt a tank rush very quickly. If your base is low on power, you can set a few of these next to a Tesla Coil, and they will power it! They are good against infantry, but you might as well use them against tanks.

Crazy Ivan
This demolitions expert is a very mission-specific unit. It carries bombs, which it can set on most everything. After a certain amount of time, the bombs will detonate, heavily damaging whatever they're attached to. You can put them on tanks, infantry, or buildings! Placing a bomb on a bridge hut will destroy the bridge. If you can transport a few of these into the enemy base, they can destroy the majority of the base very quickly.

Yuri
Yuris are another very useful unit. Each one can "mind control" an enemy unit, tranferring control of the unit to your side until either the Yuri is killed, or the unit is killed. Each Yuri can only control one units at a time, but properly used, this can dismantle tank rushes before they begin. Be careful, because Yuri can be attacked from air, and Dogs and Terror drones are immune to mind controlling.

Soviet Vehicles

Rhino Tank
The Rhino tank is the main battle tank of the Soviets. More expensive than the Allied Grizzly tank, it is more armored, more powerful, and slower. These are great all-around tanks. If you can sneak a few of them to the enemy's Construction Yard, three of them can take it out very shortly. They do enough damage that it is quite faster than repairing. They fare well against all vehicles, and can run over infantry.

Terror Drone
These lightly armored robots can embed theirselves in enemy tanks, slowly dismantling them. Once the terror drone is inside, the unit is as good as dead. The only way to stop this descruction is by healing the vehicle on a service depot or with an Engineer-IFV. They are fast, and can 'dismantle' infantry instantly. Yuri cannot mind control these, so they can be quite useful all game.

Flak Track
The ultimate anti-rocketeer defense. They shoot flak bursts into the air, which do considerable splash damage to everything near by. A group of three of them is enough to hold off Rocketeer attacks of up to 15. They are able to attack anything else in the air as well, but you'll need more of them vs. Kirovs. They can also carry up to five infantry, so this is a good way of transporting Engineers or Yuris to the enemy base.

V3 Rocket Launcher
These fire a very long range missile. Long enough to outrange a Grand Cannon even! They also do a tremendous amount of damage. Their only weakness is that they are slow to reload, and their missile can be shot down. Put them together in a group, and have them all fire at once for maximum effect. Their missiles fire slowly, so aim at stationary targets and buildings.

Apocalypse Tank
These enormous tanks fire explosive shells from not one, but TWO barrels! They have lots of armor, and do lots of damage, and even have two missile launchers to attack the air with! You don't want to mess with these tanks for sure. Have them attack other vehicles, infantry or buildings, it doesn't matter! They can take out anything and everything and do it quickly!

Kirov Airship
This is another unit of the Soviet might. It is an immense airship, which costs a large amount of credits, and moves very slowly. It somehow has lots of armor, but is very slow. When it reaches its target, it will drop bombs, quickly destroying anything underneath. If you need to take out an enemy superweapon, this is a very sure way of doing it. Remember, they're SLOW.

Mobile Construction Vehicle(MVC)
Here is the way to expand your base to another area of the map. Build this unit, drive it to an emtpy spot, and deploy it. It will turn into a Construction Yard, which you can now build buildings off of. It's rather slow, but it has plenty of armor.

War Miner
This vehicle is the unit which collects supplies for the Soviets. It can hold 1000 credits of minerals, or 2000 credits of gems. It moves at a medium speed, and has a small machine gun, and is heavily armored. IF you are close to the ore, then this is the miner to use.

Soviet Naval Units

Typhoon Attack Submarine
This is the mainstay of the Soviet Navy, an underwater craft. Unlike in Red Alert, it does not need to surface to fire, but it does surface when damaged. You'll need to have a detecting unit to allow you to see this before you can attack it. This is very effective against Naval units as you may have guessed. It can also hit hover units like transports, and Robot Tanks.

Sea Scorpion
This is the Soviet Anti-Air unit. It shoots flak, like the other flak units. It does more damage than the Flak Trak and Flak Trooper, and can also attack land units if it is close to shore. If you back up your Subs with these, then the Destroyer's Anti-Sub planes will get shot down before they can attack the subs!

Hover Transport
This is the Soviet naval transport. It can carry 12 infantry or a combination of a lesser number of vehicles. Depending on the size of the vehicle, it can carry 2 to 6. It can travel over land and water equally well.

Giant Squid
This is a rather evil unit. It can travel very quickly underwater, and must be detected by special units. When it finds an enemy ship (except other squids, dolphins and Boomer subs) It will wrap its tentacles around the ship and slowly tear it to pieces. It cannot be damaged while this is happening, and the only way to make it cease destroying the ship is by attacking the ship with Dolphins. This means that in a Soviet vs Soviet battle, there's no defense against them once they get on.

Dreadnaught
This vessel is the most powerful Soviet vessel. It is decently fast and moves across the surface. It launches two missiles which head towards the target, and hit doing immense damage. The missiles can be shot down by anti-air units, which is often your only defense against these. If an enemy catches you unprepared with these, he can decimate your base completely before you get sufficient defense. These missiles do not track moving targets, but they do splash damage.

You forgot Nation extra units. RUSSIA Tesla Tanks(My favourite unit in-game.), Iraq Desolators (Second favorite.) Cuban Terrorists, and Libyan Demolition Trucks. Also when deployed Yuri makes an mind blast. Your and your enemy's units are destroyed by the blast (except mind controlled units)
