They've got to be crazy!

Are they serious that thats the minimum requirements to get the game to run in 1600 x 1200?! Not even DooM III or FEAR need those requirements...EAs just going trigger happy it seems. Im hoping they just havnt gotten around to optimizing it yet, cause thats just pathetic when a game with less detailed graphics takes more power to play it at the same quality as graphicly intense games

1600x1200 at Highest detail 4xAA, 16xAF with no lag:
Processor: Dual Core 3.0 Ghz +
Memory: 2 GB
Graphics: Dual Card 7900 GTX or X1900s

Im mean seriously...

Oops... almost forgot

AMD Athalon 64 3200+ 3.2ghz (Single Core)
1 gig DDR
GeForce 6800 (Possibly upgrading to a 7600 within the next day)

Looks like Im going to be lucky if I can run 1024x768 at medium-high graphics. But if I can get a hold of the demo, I should be able to find out how terrible my computer is...

I need a better job...

@10: Well, those aren't the official specs, those are the computers we played C&C3 on at EA. And it didn't have any lag problems even with 84 mechs on screen. However, when two people did infantry vs. base defenses, it slowed down with the masses of infantry. (masses = 50 units x 5 guys/unit)

@12: It might mean that, or it might mean that you have HT

it looks like u guys have no knowledge about the powerfull sage engine^^

if u can play c&c ZH with full details and high resolution, then u can play this game on high details, too smile

im playin the demo with 1600x1200 and most settings on ultimate, and i realy dont have the best pc at all

P4 3,0 GHZ
Radeon 9800XT 128mb
1,256mb ram ddr1

the sage engine doesnt need much resurces but it can shows up great graphic like in c&c3

and even if low-mid settings the game looks better then zero hour!

i have a :
- P4 2.6GHz
- 1GB ram
- radeon 256mb 9600XT or 9800XT
- 320 Gb hard drive

i got the demo, and i play it on low, but why is when i go up to medium, the demo is in super LAG and freezes, and i have to turn my computer off from the powerpoint? But i play generals ZH at max graphics on 1200 x 1000 res, and most other games as well?

so #23 why is it this happens???

p.s I hope that in the actual game this doesnt happen?

500GB Seagate Barriacuda HD
ATI X1650 Pro
AMD Athlon X2 5200+ processor
Dual 22" Acer Monitors (yeah gonna love that 1600x1200)
2 ASUS DVD/CD Burners 16x
Eagle Case with pneumatic sliding front door
Blue neons
Ultra 700 Watt PSU
XP Professional (will be Vista once they optimize it better for games)

Yeah the graphics card isnt the best but I didn't wanna spend money on two graphics cards now, when the games out there can't utilize them. By the time the games are configured to use both graphics cards effeciently they would be out of date.

So I'll just buy those later when ATI comes out with killer graphics cards that can bend games over the keyboard and spank them.

Cpu: Intel Core 2 Duo with Viiv technology 1.87
Ram: 2GB
Hard Drive: 250GB
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 256MB, and it also has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3000, so it has 2 graphics cards
DVD Drive: Can read All formats extremly fast, and has LightScribe Technology
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition

I played the demo on this computer and the defult settings had all of the textures on high. water was on medium, though. Any computer with specs similiar to this will do fine. (By the way, I upgrade the graphics card when I got it, so they must have left the old one in the computer. I don't know if its used or not.)

to #2 that doesn't mean anything, unless you took the picture while you were playing the demo which is unlikely because your cpu shows 0% usage.

and like JohnWE said, these aren't official system requirements. the game hasn't been released yet. when the game gets released, EA will probably release official system requirements. and when you want to buy the game, check the back of the box.
official system requirements should be there.

Well, I got:

CPU: Intel P4 3.2 Ghz HT
Graphic Card: ATI Radeon X800XT 256 mb PCI Express
Memory: 1024 mb dual memory sticks(512 mb each)400 MHz
CD/DVD Drive: Can read everything, speed CD 40x, DVD16x
Hard Drive: 250 Mb NDD SATA 7200rpm

No lagg at all when playing at max graphic quality, but sometimes the game crashes after like 20 mins of playing but man it's so damn fun to play it.

That's way off , I can run generals fine at max resolution and everything up at full , but it doesn't mean you can run C&C 3 .

I admit that I did not buy my computer this week for gaming, but when I saw that there was a new C&C my heart skipped and I checked the spec sheet. It says it needs a minimum of 2GHz - this is a pain in the rear passage when my computer is brand new and not exactly cheap (not a gaming monster either I admit), but falls below this standard. I am reading alot of guff about processor speed, clock speed etc and am now thoroughly confused. I will also be running it on a big monitor, so if it sucks the big one I will notice. Any help here would be appreciated. Can I upgrade the processor at a later date? Thanks in advance for all your help in this matter.

My system spec is:

Intel®Viiv™technology-Intel®Core™2Duo E4300 processor(1.80G

2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [4x512] MemoryHz,800MHz,2MB cache)

250GB (7200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive with 8MB DataBurst™ cache

256MB ATI® Radeon® X1300 Pro graphics card

22 inch widescreen monitor.

You have a dual core processor so basicly you have 3.2ghz but dual core processors are even better than a 3.2 ghz single core processor.
Also you can overclock the processor and get it to 3.2 Ghz (if you have the cooling power).
Also the graphic card isn't that good I recommend a 7600GT or a ATi X1900Pro (of course the X1900Pro is much more powerful.

well #49 you can get mobos with 16gb of ram, just go on to amazon and search motherboards Ive found at least 5 that supports up to 16gb ram.

Searching for a new mobo as mine only supports PCi, needing a PCI-e to be a real pc gamer Rock
