Well Reborn fans here it is, Zero Hour Reborn: The Last Stand (V.5.0). Nuker has been working non stop to give you all what you want. My clan has also been beta testing to make sure you don’t have to deal with bugs in this version of Reborn. Nuker has done a great job on this version. at first i did not like this, but once i fixed the icon problems it is the best zero hour mod.I was wondering since everyone is complaining about the loss of the old generals can someone put some kinda program that lets us chose the 12 AI controlled generals.(Kinda like a mini-mod swapper). Thanx for the great mod Nuker and other helpers keep on making great mods and good luck for V.6.Please try to include a general mod swapper because i miss the Nuclear general and the Laser general.

yes this is the final version of V.5 thats what nuker has decided , he did not want to waste anymore time in V.5 as he already has but move in to V.6 which will have a lot of new things coming up like(generals-units-etc). Enjoy the mod.

If it ain't bugfree enough this time I swear it'll be the last ZH Reborn Mod I download... I liked version 4 for being bugless, but the first v5.0 seemed as if it was rushed...

To #7, do you think the modders or we care that you stick with Reborn? They do this voluntarily; they don't spend all this time to please you, so next time please show some respect.

Yes it was buggy, but that's hardly a reason for that kind of talk.

On a side note, anyone here know what the Ion Cannon Beacon ability on one of the Delta Force boys does exactly? Reminds me of Renegade, just wish I knew what it did!

Its like the ion cannon in renegade, a beam comes down and hits what ever you put the beacon on.

any bugs that are going to be recorded will be fixed in v6 but i bet a whole bunch new ones will come out when v6 is prepared, we will beta test this one again and make sure that we dont need to make patches

if any of u notice that the GLA Rogue general has general power bugs, it is SK1's fault that he didnt wait 1 day for them to be fixed, b!tch at him, not me.

the only thing that i noticed is that i was unable to get the delta force guy to place a ion cannon beacon. im not sure if you have to have a particle uplink cannon or ion cannon in order to use that or not. pls let me know. btw the mod is great. thanks SK1 and Nuker

how come i cant build the ion cannon for bush, Helipad for griffon, royal decree, scudstorm air burst for bin laden. and why is bin laden Dr.thrax. other than those the mod is the best (100%)Two Thumbs Up!:

as most of you have noticed the special forces ppl are just like corneal burton (target on them on the map). ell the ion cannon is the difference between the two. ONLY cornel burton can use the ion cannon ability, but when he does it takes out...... well anything. nukers rendishion of the partical cannon is most awesome but i think the recharge on it is a little too fast.

as for the helipad problem i think nuker and sk1 just couldnt figure out teh glitches on teh helipad and just decided to take them out.... btw i LOVE the tank drone smile

And o yea i forgot to give the delta force marines thier own command set so they cant use the ion cannnon beacon. The reason the Ion Cannon isnt an actually beam like the particle cannon was beacuase it wasnt possible to do like that.

there is no problem with the presidents ion cannon. i mean the pic says particle cannon but after you build it it is the ion cannon. saddam dosnt get the un humvee,

I uninstalled Reborn V4 and installed V5. When I started the game, I found the startup screen of V4(showing all the Generals) showing before V5's 3 Rogue Gen screen. I have been trying to locate this remnant of V4 to delete but just could not find. Can someone help, please. Many thanks in advance.

In your next release, could you implement a changing targeting cursor to represent the range of a unit's weapon (ie, when you're within range of a target and when you're not)? It would help a lot with all the awesome siege weapons in Reborn.

I've noticed that artillery fire reveals the terrain as it travels to its target, which is a great implementation. Would you consider adding that ability to the MLRS missiles?

A function that would let you command a unit to guard another would also be a great addition in a future release.

After uninstall the older ver reborn, fix it then i install latest ver, i played skimmish about 10-20mins then suddenly game crashed. Does it occure to you as well? Is it problem wif my hardware or game? I am using Geforce FX5200 128mb card..Kindly help me..thanks

You know Nuker,after looking at some other M1s in other mods,and compared it to the one in this game,It's remarkably unrealistic. Maybe you could ask the people that made those M1s to send you the tank model and replace the old one. Just a suggestion...

If u press the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and hold it you can see the range of the units.

And i have a question?Are Osama bin Laden's Scud launchers supposed to have a choice between "High-explosive" and "Biological"?

I'm just saying that other M1s have the little tower,perfectly realistic and other sort of more cool textures. If Nuker wants to replace the M1 with one other in one like Cold War Crises or something,thats cool. But if he wants to keep the old,thats cool with me too.

great mod! only i have a porblem, when i want to play skirmish i lose after like 10 seconds .. my buidings simply all get destroyed after 10 secs and i get the you have been defeated splash screen ...
anyone know why ?

i've encountered one bug that is gettin to me, i have yet to complete a game as the USA commander and cheif, the game crashes with the critical error msg, yet all the other generals work fine, have others had this problem or is it just me?

well the only way ive had the game crash on me with teh commander and chief for USA is when you build the upgraded cournel bourton the game crashes. dont know how to fix it but i know how to avoid the problem.

Well, I love this but it does have a few bad points.

First is Commander in CHief. He builds so fast noone can beat him (atleast me). He had 7 Ion Cannons before I could build a second WMD (about 10 minutes into the game). He hits you with 2 or 3 and your done. I have sen his buildings go up so fast that he couldn't move troops around until I destroyed some of his buildings for him. I guess my first step is to restrict superweapons.

Also it is disapointing that the original generals were not included. I remember Nuker asking who wants them left in and most said they do. Why ask if you were gonna remove them anyways.

I am working to restore them on my computer but havn't figured it out yet.

Anyways good mod and I know I couldn't do it.

Some comps were made to be harder than they were before because people wanted them harder .
For the old generals they had to be removed so the Ai's on the new generals could work and be coded.
Reborn is about NEW stuff man not going back to old onces , u have zero hour with old generals , u have this for new generals .

It was a one sided battle, nuker did it because of the results on that poll, and on top of the fact, that the only way to get the AI to work, with out haveing to rewrite the game was to delete the old generals.

Gap generator does not work.
Nuke canon with China rouge gen still not works.
Can't train officer with China commander in cheif.
The oil clouds that you should be able 2 deploy with GLA still dont work.

can you make the gla hijack general more interesting. he is very boring. and what ever happened to gla terror bombing and rebellion. also china royal decree.saddam also dosent get un humvee., cant use demoralize or gps scramble.saddams scud launcher says missing tool tip blah blah..by the way i love bin laden and us rogue.(P.S sorry for the long post)

i think if the CPU or AI does not meet the following conditions and actions that are scripted in the game and its impossible for it to do then it will crash. scripts that cause AI to be confused.

examples are, some structures were overlapping one another. tanks piling up in bases left with no orders to attack. telling a vehicle to drive into a water.

impossible or confusing scripts may cause it to lag followed by crash. especially when playing against hard enemy having more scripts to follow.

just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I would play the game for about 10 minutes and all of a sudden, it would crash and tell me that there's a serious error. Something regarding a virus or hardware overheating. I'm sure that this isn't a Zero Hour problem because I would play the unmodded version and nothing would happen. I have also tried the An Act of War Mod and this wouldn't happen either. It would only happen to this particular mod. Any suggestions? help please

that problem your describing is an EA problem and they are aware of it. I'm aware of the problem that EA is addressing in your reply and I have done everything in that article to fix the problem. When running the game without the mod, the game works perfectly fine. This problem only comes up when I have the ZH Reborn: Last Stand mod installed.

maybe nuker put something in the mod interfering with the game and the way the AI acts.

or maybe the AI or whatever in the game doesn't recognize the mod. could be errors like a typo or a mistake in the INI files.
it could take days or weeks to scan through all the INI files to make sure its correct. and that's probably why it still has bugs.

btw, some descriptions are missing probably in the english folder or something.

well i say it still needs a patch

I saw in the readme that there is a naval yard and other new buildings. when I play as the USA rouge general, I click on the bulldozer and the only new building that comes up is the fence, where do I go to build the tech lab and naval yards

There will be no more patches for 5.0 it will keep taking time so nuker has decided to move into 6.0. 6.0 will take a bit time because more things are included in it so you guys have to wait and play with what you have already and wait for the new version to come out. But keep reporting bugs if you still see them in 5.0.

GLA rouge doesn't have any officer upgrade at palce
I can't use some of the general promotion at the side of the screen at GlA and China but I can use them at the command center

Arrgh! Not again! Beat Saddam with Schwarzkoph,but one of my greatest frustrations came up again. What with whenever I play agianst any of the generals that are back in the challenge(Juhziz and Shin Fai)it crashes and tech difficulty of course. Any way I could fix this?

The Ironside thing on Generals Challenge is weird at best. His pic on the selection screen is Ironside,but the vs. Menu has a Granger pic with Griffon,and he's listed as Griffon! Are you going to examine this bug?

The 1st thing that comes to mind would be to change the install directory to F:/ instead of C:/. Have you tried that as of yet?

Hi I love the Mod. The only Bug I noticed was my Particle cannon don't werk right, & the Tomahawk Battleships seem to fire thier missiles 10 meters starboard.

I realy like using Air supiriority tactics, you think you can make an F14 Tomcat as an Air to Air Supremacy fighter & an F16 as a fighter to put the bunker busters on? That would be cool. (It be cool if the Paladin Tank's cannon was a Lazer cannon too) But I'll still support your mods nomatter what you decide (for what it's worth) ....

GOOD JOB, The only think the Act of War mod has on it's side is the Abrams tank. This kicks @**!!!!

With Norman,you select the MD and it's called the laser defender. Also,when you build his comanche,you hear it say "Laser Comanche Ready to Strike". Maybe you should include the lines for laser Burton,laser comanche,and laser defender. BTW,it's just a guess,but I Guess Ironside shoudl get all that laser stuff.

V 5.0 goes very very slow in skirmish mod. I didn' try multiplayer but in skirmish it's a disaster. Not playable. V4.0 run smooth, so hardware is not problem. Wtf? Help plz!
Also, who is the china general with naval yard? I cant't found him. Would like to see those submarines.

Thats General Chen of China. Nuker said in the Readme that he hates Leang so he kept the Infantry general,but made Chen the new boss of China. Only the Rouge Generals get a Navy.

The problem with lag in skirmish games is due to the advanced AI coding that was used when the mod was created. As for the navel yard its just as AlphaBomber stated you have to use the China Rogue General.

I am having an issue with the lastest version of Zero Hour Reborn. Ver 5.0 will not let me open the zip file. I get the error:

"This is not a complete zip file. It is part of a spanned zip file set. Please insert the last diskette of the set into the drive and select ok."

Does anybody know what file is missing?

Thats a very odd error. The only thing thats supposed to be in the zip is an installer program and a readme file for the mod. I've downloaded the mod myself and those are the only things that came in my zip and the mod works fine for me.

correct me if im wrong but i think putting all the files into a BIG File format (just needs 1 simple file containing all the data of the mod) is much better than scattering it across the zero hour main directory folder...
it makes the game less laggish and also plays better. but if u ppl want to modify it, u can use a BIG file extractor to extract any files u want to change and save it in a specific folder.

ps: for v6, restore the old generals and i guess we cant use any ai scripts u created cuz its very laggy but im not sure about the BIG file.

You need to extract the contents of the zip toCbig grinocuments and settingswhatever name is thereMy DocumentsCommand & Conquer Zero Hour Data. Once you've extracted the files just go to the Zero Hour Data and run the Zero Hour Reborn The Last Stand installer.

for the b2 spirit, lets replace the b2 nuclear warhead upgrade to a 'mini' moab bomb! the alpha aurora bomber got their 'mini' fuel bomb and why not have the b2 bomber have their 'mini' moab bomb? i think this is a good idea. replace the nuclear warhead to a mini moab bomb type.

i hope there is a patch for all the bugs (i wanna use Bush's Ion Cannons, but whenever i play as Bush, it seems to crash the game...along with other units in the game and their bugs)

i really dont understand... how can your beta testers miss a bug/glitch in a game? some of the glitch/bug is big, u cant miss it but it was like if the beta testers unnoticed it. i mean you got alot of beta testers but it seems that it wasn't checked throughly. there were alot of bugs still there and i wondered if they informed you of this b4 releasing it to the public. this has happened over and over on each versions. even we, the people, found bugs ourselves better then the beta testers. its as if beta testers could only find major bugs, glitches, and crashes rather than minor ones. the minor ones has been ignored all the time. if a problem cannot be solved like the helipad, i understand...

the next version (v6) i hope ur beta testers do better than last time. check for major and minor bugs, etc. the reason i addressed this is because i got bored with playing generals that had alot of bugs and everything. my fav general is the usa commander in chief but is has alot of issues.
quality is better than rushing is what everybody says. i would prefer waiting for months for the best quality mod (almost bug free) rather than rushing to try it out earlier. so before you release your next mod, plz plz plz make sure its perfect if u can b4 releasing it out to the public.

the readme lacks information on this mod. it doesnt state all the new goodies in the mod. have somebody in your clan work on this. i would like to read it and see whats new rather than playing each individual general to see whats new... also put descriptions by them. include the old mod units and the newer mod units.

i have 1 idea for the china cic. the kirov airship, but u can give it a different name. i love to use those airships.

btw, i was wondering if u can 'parachute' troops (or vehicles) out of the chinook by clicking the button.

well there are a few things i dont like about the mod but overall it is good.

The song you speak of is "Cold",and it only plays once in a Skirmish,and once in each of the campaigns. At least in my definition,thats not alot.

one of my better favourite mods because of the longer range on units. i love that. i just love blowing the crap out of an army from afar.

people are looking for the techlab. is it that hard to find? USA rogue general, then click on the construction drone (not the dozer) and once you have the strat centre than you can build the funky new building.

sometimes, when i use Bush's planes the game crashes, but he's been the only General that crashes on me. His planes and the paladin artillery cannons and the ion cannon, whenver i use them three it crashes.

anyway, this is like the only mod i've played for like... days on without sleep (no seriously) o for osome.

Guys : i have downloaded the "last stand" . It is good in the first 5 mins of the match , but after that it begins coming slower and slower ending by crushing . " serious error has happened " .
So , did any body have this problem ?

yeah it does really lag since nuker added the new AI scripts for the cpu. it happens on all the generals and few of them may crash like my fav. usa cic.

i think its best if we didnt put in the AI scripts thats causing lag. unless you figure a way to make it go faster. if you can't find a way, then i guess ur gonna have to restore the old generals and its old AI scripts and leave all the 'un'AI new generals at the end of the list like v4.

First I'd just like to say thanks to Nuker and the team (if only I knew all your names) for the brilliant Reborn V4 and 5 (didn't play any earlier ones). This is the best mod ever! I love the new additions to the generals, especially the huge aerial strike with US Rogue and special ops drop with the US officer. Unfortunately my PC is older and it lags like heck on any non-un-official map as the game gets hot, so I have to go back to version 4.0. My suggestions for V6.0 would be to bring back the original generals and strengthen the GLA ones especially. General Juhziz and Dr. Thrax were too weak. Also, the Ion Cannon timer is too short for the damage it does, bring back the 8 min timer! Also, could you put the original background movie on the main menu back on? Thanks you legends Rock

In order to build ships and not have them appear on land you have to turn the shipyard so that all the things that are on top of the bldgs for usa and china appear to be going out into the water. For the GLA you have to build the dock going out into the water. Hope that helps.

or make sure you point the arrow facing away from the water at the edge of the shoreline. the arrow does not tell you the units are coming out that way, its just the opposite. must be confusing for the newbies

1- while you play as the GLA rouge general, in the stinger site there is a buttion when u prees it and click it on somwhere it says(aircraft spooted) does it do somthing or id doesnt

no offense but vanguard's AI scripts are much harder, better, and challenging than urs. but that would equal very laggy than urs. the harder the AI, the more laggy it would be. i never lost a battle against the hard AI but in his mod his brutal AI whooped my *ss in the end, i was outnumbered. but i would like to see that kind of difficulty in ur mod for v6. but i'll need to buy a high-end fast computer, lol

but i still like ur mod the best, the attack range is the best out of all the mods.

no, v6 has nothing to do with arise of the motherland: the sum of all fears. foolishone is using the base of zero hour reborn as a start with permission by nuker. but nuker's mod and foolishone's mod is totally different.

u ppl should hear all of these unused audios by extracting it in another folder using the big extractor. very interesting to hear.stick out tongue

can u put in cruise missile bombardment button for the aegis cruiser? and also the amphibous transport really doesnt need to require a strategy center at all, its only a basic transportation unit, just need the shipyard alone. i think the shipyard needs a new look rather than having it look like a rectangular structure. have it 'stick out' into the water like a bridge heading out into the water and there is a naval shipyard. or a structure having docks extending out into the water. this would make it less confusing since i really dont trust the arrow direction when building a naval shipyard. battleship and aegis cruiser requires strategy center. if u do bring back the old generals then give the airforce general the aircraft carrier.

there's very few ships maybe there should be a little more.

restore old generals, having mixed general tactics is confusing for me, not a good idea.

all naval shipyards should not look rectangular.
give GLA the Scud dreadnought.
ships should at least have some sort of upgrade in the naval shipyard.
the icon of the rocket pad control needs a better icon besides a nuclear bomb.
the rocket quad has no description and has no background in the icon.
parachute from chinooks.
the morale statue needs a better icon. no screenshot icons.
i'll take a look at the other generals later.

Seem to be getting consistent 'serious error' message (and crash) whenever I play withe CiC selected. Can gt the mod to run ok with other characters but always errors out with the CiC - any suggestions re fix ???

I have tried reinstall and delete of options.ini

thanks for the link. based on what i read none of them helped except for one which im not sure.

anus panda: AGAIN, it is just the engine. People can make high polygon models, 1024x textures, stupid amounts of particle effects and the game will look alright... but it will crash quicker. Simply way around it is to not play mods (or editing out the particles might help).

To get rid of blood,just play it on a low graphics level. The blood effect is particle effects,and if you play it on low graphics,the blood doesn't appear.

no offense but the i dont like how nuker modded china raptors have special technology to counter missile jamming. oh the aiges cruiser doesnt shoot at anything but units unless it the plain mini gun

i like it still though and the map pack doesnt work oh US shouldve gotten new sub

i want sum of all fears that mod looks really good.

i wish i had a modding team because i have alot of ideas

I htought I had fixed the 'serious error' issue by reinstalling and swapping game.dats with friend so we all had the same one.

Unfor. still getting serious error message and game crash after about 20 mins into inline play when there is a CiC general selected.

Don't know what else to try to gt rid of this issue. Pity really cos its the one character I really enjoy - I jus luvs those bombers Aaargh!!!

for all those that did nothing but complain about this mod, modding games is not easy, it takes a lot of work and if something is missed, well, you have bugs. sure i have some bugs too butt the game plays quite well. some of the bugs i have are, with the china rouge general, i cant build the nuke cannon even with all the tech done and the icon is there, i still can not build it. other than that just a few minor glitches. i would like to add some comments for the v6.0. i would like to see more powers like maybe a future russians or great britian. since the game is based on future technology, it would be feasable to see those powers in the next version. keep up the good work and looking forward to the next version.Two Thumbs Up!Rock

after downloading the mod, i really liked it......but then i realized that i cant switch. like turn off Reborn and turn on the origional Zero Hour, is there anyway to do that like you can in Battle Field 1942? or switch between different mods for the game? any help would be great!smile

go to where u installed reborn and ZH (C:/Program Files/EA Games/C&C ZH or whatever folder it is, but in program files) and go to Data.

Now click on Audio

Now click on Tracks

You found the music

I posted here 2-3 times how to make your own music into ZH, but since someone had a trouble since that folder didnt do anything, we messed up a bit with Music.BIG and MusicZH.BIG and they successfully got rid of the old music and gave up ours...

Right now im busy with my own mod, changes all voices and sounds (as possible) in ZH. Probably be used with 2 other mods smile You can always apply to do a general's sound stick out tongue

Anyway, good mod wink

b] d/l modswapper
c] use modswapper to launch ZH or C&C and pick the mod you wish to use

NB - any new mods you d/l should be installed into a 'new' dir in the mod swapper parent

eg c:/modswapper/reborn etc

that way modswapper will ist all installed mode and let you run them on demand

always keep you normal C&C na dZH installs as standard and let mod swapper use the mods

ok, i installed the modswapper
but i cant get Reborn to get on the list, well i cant get it into the modswapper. after d/l reborn i clicked save to the modswapper file, when i went to put it in the folder it said that that wasnt the name of the mod.......erm can someone help me on this?

if you are going to replace the old generals back in for v.6 will they still be coded for the new units? im not sure how coding works so idk if this is possible. but if the new units could still work with the old generals that would be awesome

the naval shipyards are far the ugliest ones out of all the other mods. they just look like a piece of block placed near the shore. i cant stand how it looks

some part of the design of this mod is bad and good. its either because your staff members are slacking off just to get it done with, and some others try their best to make it a perfect mod. i think the naval shipyard and chop shop looks a little queasy.

nuker, dont use low-quality modders who would slack off and rush it using pre-existing models, etc. it gives this mod a bad reputation.
high-quality modders are needed.

I thing this is so wrong. nuker told us to report bugs and error, well is he listen? I dont know ho is the most intoxicated. nuker who dont listen on the people, or the beta tester that dont notice the bugs.

I love the Reborn mod, but it is to many bugs and the mod cause to heavy lag. And that darn "serrious error" grrrrrrrrr

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that this mod rocks. The only problem I have is that when playing as the USA Rouge general, the game crashes to desktop about 10 minutes into the game. I have finished skirmishes with all other generals except this one. Other than that though, cool mod.

cuz alot of the bugs me and my friend found and wrote down here in the "comment" wasent fixed in all versions they made for v5, was it 3 updates before it even was playable. Our bugg list wasent small either, the list we made wrote down was like over 20 buggs we found. Alot of them was fixed but they where obvious rest of them was just ignored or we got flamed by some beta-tester that we was stupied or something.

Dont count on our support in next version, we wont bother you.

The SoAF team has decided it in its best intrest to no longer *****ociate itself with the reborn series, the mod will no longer feature the generals placed in Nuker's mod. The mod will still feature Russia and 3 new subsides for each side. The amount of emials recieved asking whether or not this was V.6 or if this was the next Reborn mod prompted me to address this issue. We feel that it will be easist for our small modding team to work with the basis instead of building off someone esles work. Possibly we will combine the mods as one in another version if this is all complying with Nukers wishes, after all he is the one who created the Reborn series. I will not pester Nuker at this time about this issue so do not ask anytime soon.
The mod is in need of skinners and modellors....we feel the less coders we have the eiaser the work will get done with the fewest bugs possible. Talented skinners h/e are hard to come by. That is the only focal point in our mod that we miss, skinners. If anyone knows of a talented skinner, or is one themselves and are willing to help please contact me at lukebelke@earthlink.net.
We thank those who have supported us from the begging and hope you will all soon be talking about our mod. We are very excited that it is finally getting some steam. Increased activity of this mod will be present in the coming months.

i downloaded this modd...and everytime i play a game...the game stops and says : technical difficulties blabalbala.....i didnt have this problem without the mod...
and everytime it DOESNT say the technical difficulties crap....the game becomes sooooooo slow.......i have a amd64 3200 , 6800 ultra, 1024 mb ram. so it isnt my comp....its the damn mod...i didnt have this problem without the mod..
i hope V6 is without the game being very slow mad

V6.0 has been renamed to Zero Hour Reborn FInal, yes thats right FINAL, this will probably be my last great commitiment to the zero hour community. It will include more than you could possibly immagine, without the bugs though. Some of which is the no lag fix, original generals back, new side, and intro movie. This work has been in process quite a while and i hope will be finished. If you would like to help out plz contact me on aim or msn. Mostly i would need help coding and if you can model and skin GREAT! The more help, the faster it gets out.

Hi,
allot of you might or might not now me, my name is Deathmage (for Generals online, it [AH]Area_51 or Gen. Jones), i have Fixed the problem that EA has with the crash for the game. it went away when i fixed almost all of the bugs in the game that i noticed, and then somemore that people in this forum reconized. the only problem im having is, how to get the fixed version to you all but, im not sure if Nuker would approve. i fixed the problems with the superweapon, and now they finally do release. i added a fix to the AI scripting to make it less laggy, but still keeping the Agressive AI intact. I've modified the readme extensively, and it now has every nook and cranny of detailed information about everything new in this mod, in detail ( took me about 8 hours to do that) i fixed allot of the bugs with the command sets. i Have been able to make the ion cannon beacon work, all i does is call a off-map paticle cannon strike, im workin on the animation for a athentic Ion cannon strike like from Tiberium Sun. i've also manged to add allot of OLD generals back into the game ( it only took me 10 re-installs , after screwing up the game, BIg time,many time over), it all about Trial and Error, you only learn from the mistakes you make. I've made so many improvement i could list them for days. If Nuker see this, ill be happy to upload the improved version to him so, he can look it over. It still his mod, ive only improved it to the state that it was supposed to be at when version 5.0 was released. Nuker, i have you on AIM, the next time i see you online ill tell you the low-down. to everyone else, i would like ot thank you all for all the bugs you reported, ALL of them have been fixed, HOPEFULLY. im not GOd, nothing is ever perfect.

I guess not as long as It's not installed(the Patch)when Reborn 5.0 is installed. So I suggest you uninstall the game and repair the game, download and put the patch in effect, then reinstall the mod.

When i put my user name and p*****word in the forums it doesn't work, i just wanted to enter the forum for guidelines for modding and ask them this:
Can someone tell me how to:
1) Change units and their pictures and attributes.
2) Use Ren_x (like putting colour on the tank and decorations) and put my creations from
Ren_x into the game.
3) Change the cost of things.
4) Make new buildings.
The problem is that I don’t know what to extract, what to copy, what folder to create etc. I am so confused.
I have all the programs like g_max, Ren_x, big xtractor, final big, big pop, W3d Viewer and Renegade editor but I don’t know how to use them. I need step-by-step rules please. I am very sorry for asking its just I am so confused.

Hmmmm this is one awsome mod that beats Shokwave anyday because..hmmm lets see... IT WORKS!!!!!!

I just downloaded Shokwave and in no time im trying to figure out how to get it out of my comp.

This mod is hastle free and awsomely fun. Shokwave on the other hand, cant even get the mod to start...

Maybe you should add a track called "He's a Pirate". It's on Project Raptor, which I add, Is a nice mod, and it really is a great song. And maybe you should address the fact that "Cold" only plays once in a multiplayer game. I remember one night I was listening to the radio, when "Cold" started playing. I instantly exclaimed "Hey, thats all the mod I downloaded!". Ah, what a small world eh?

I have a problem. When I play Skirmish, the games starts out good for about 5 minutes, then the games starts to slow down like crazy.

I'm playing vs. 1 Hard Enemy

I don't know what's the problem because my game use to run smooth before the installation of this mod.

I have a computer with 2 GB. of RAM and a 256 MB PCI-E Graphics Card so I don't think hardware is the problem.

Someone please help me. I really want to try this mod after seeing so much good things said about it.

ive had a similar prob and also have 2 gig ram amd athlon processor that is 2+ghz (cant remember exact) and 200 gig hard drive just for my games my system is on a completely different hard drive.

1)go to My documents
2) double-click on the C&C Generals Zero Hour folder
3) find a file called "error-release" or something like that, it will be in .txt file format or as .log
( its a log file that tell you what the problem is, it should tell u why the game give u the message. once you find out the reason for the problem, post the entire contents of the . log or .txt file in this forum, i will figure out what is making the mod not run properly with your version of Zero hour.)

the reason why the game is so dam slow is b/c the mod's files are not compressed, like the game's file are, so in turn b/c the file for this mod are "loose" and not compressed like the original Zero hour game file are, the game tend to "lag" after a short period of time. the reason y this is os, is b/c the game has to constantly retrieve the information from the mods file's then look at the files in the compressed files that the game uses, which in turn slows down the game. i stated to nuker, recently that the game wouldnt lag, or not as much as it does, if the mod's files were placed in a .big file, a .big file is a specifiy file compression specifically used w/ the C&C Generals/Zero Hour engine, the game wouldn't be a dreadful slow as it is right now. and it a proven fact that if the mod is in a .big file format the game is much more enjoyable and allot of the crashes that occur, tend to not happen as frequently as the have. i now this b/c personally i add the mos files to a .big file and the game runs fine 4 me.
hopefully, if nuker, take into consideratino my reccommendation for the mod to be in a .big file, the games numerous lag and crash issues will be resolved. as of right now, he NOW know that these problem can be avoided with a .big file, asi stated to him the other night ago.

so bear with nuker's mod, the reason y you game crash and lag is b/c the mod installation isnt the most effiecient and speedy location for the mod itself.

IF people cant bear the laggyness and crashes, i'll ask nuker if i can re-post the mod with the alteration from the .big file added to the mod. but if he doesnt, just send me a Instant Message on AIM, and ill send you a copy of the mod in a .big file format. my AIM name is Midwayy8865

This serie mods from C&C Reborn are real cool but the generals who have been added have no Skirmish-AI so may question is if their comes a V6 of this serie can the added generals have a Skirmish AI . Beacouse in V5 you don't have other generals with a AI accept the generals you get in Zero Hour !!

Now, I'd like to know what is the "new version of Reborn", that's supposed to be right "here".

Is the last version of The Last Stand V5.0 ? Or is there any patch(es) I'm missing for it ?

What I am supposed to download ? Because I re-downloaded V5.0 from here. And I compared the files with the one I downloaded just one or two months ago, and they're the very same.

I see no "new version of Reborn".

If by "new version" it actually means V5.0 (because it's newer than V4.0 of course) then, I'm sorry. I miss-understood.

So, if there is indeed no actual patches for that bug in V5.0, will I have to wait for V6.0 ? Is it still in the making ?

Hey Nuker, your mod is beyond excellent just for your information and as an inspiration to finish off the final version 6.0.

Just to quote though, there are a few bugs and recommendations on your mod, and I will spell them out here (btw, we have tested every single generals for this to provide the most feedback):

Let's start off with the bugs.
1: While playing against the computer who was USA Chief in Command, the game bombs out to windows. Check the scripts (might be at fault).
Secondly, as AI or even a player, that general is far too easy to win or difficult to beat, respectively. I've just had 3 GLA computers (yes all on hard) and they still can
penetrate his defenses, let alone crash the game as stated in 1.

Now the improvements.
2: Having played the GLA Rogue general, I promoted myself to use hijackers, but
in the menu they were not selectable; and some skills (demoralize skill) doesn't work on either vehicle or infantry. Double check this.

3: The AI *****ault general doesn't seem to use its Multiple Tomohawk Launcher
(super weapons). Can you verify this?

As for improvements:
4: Make the GLA more balanced. I've been playing deathmatch and skirmish a dozen times and I feel that the GLA have the 'short end of the stick'. They are just far too weak; and not enough options such as new compromising vehicles against the other generals. I've even beat my friends who were all GLA against me and I was the Chinese Rogue General. Having lost, they say that this game was too raunchy (unbalanced).
I was just far too powerful.

5: I saw that mammoth tank in the game, nice move to inherit some of the past. But, did it really look like that? I remember playing the very first c&c (tiberian dawn) and comparing it to this game, this game's mammoth tank looked like a baby tank. Even the Abrams M1 could take it down. Now I don't remember this happening in the first c&c.
Usually it was the mammoth tank that took down even 2 M1 Abrams tank (yes, those medium tanks were Abrams M1).
Hell the mammoth tank can't even take out the Bradly (M2A3) properly.

6: Now that I mentioned it, that Bradley tank is really effective, even against the M1Abrams (for the price you pay for it, the damage it does, the fast build time,
and low tech requirements). In fact, it was pretty unbalanced because my advance battlemaster (which costed $1100, almost double the price, slower in speed and firing rate than the Bradley), can't even take out the Bradley tank (which was $700).

Could you please take a look at all these queries? It could very much help improve the game. Of course the mod is good as it stands, but we feel it can be even better.
I believe most of these queries were asked earlier, so sorry for the redundant questions.

We will continued to play/test the game for you and, if by any chance, we sought improvement/fixes in a particular area, we will let you know.

So far, VERY EXCELLENT MOD (and you can't get 'very' more excellent than very excellent mod).
Hope this information will fuel you into finishing V6.0.

Fantastic mod. Props to the programers because they outdid themselves. The bugs in it are so few and far in between that they don't really make a difference if you save the game every now and then. Great job guys!

yea i get the crash mostly in games w/ other people but also in the bigger solo player games.
if you can, make it so it doesnt crash on the campaign missions please the mod makes them go much faster and much more enjoyable

You know about that sadly famous "Serious Error" so many users experienced with both the original Zero Hour and your superb modification series.

I would like (and surely all your supporters do as well) to know if, so far, your tests shows that it doesn't crash, and is stable enough so that damn error isn't back anymore ?

Because...man do that error nuls the gameplay fun from your awesome mod. Cry

I don't mind the wait, seriously. If it'd take another month just to get rid of that error would be well worth it in my book.

the mismatch seems to happen early in the game if it does happen and i had that problem even w/out the mod but it happens rarely and ithink its just when the computers are not able to transfer data fast enough or one slows down too much.

glad to see the old generals being added but also wondering if any generals will not have ai since yu have said that the original generals would not have the ai put in. just checking so that i dont leave the computers to be some general w/ no ai

Well, for some reasons the Serious Error, in my case at least, happens only when I play against / with Hard A.I.. If the A.I is set at Medium, it does not happen. Even with any Generals included.

At Hard, maybe the A.I wants to do too many things at once, and the game engine, or the A.I scripts are not made so that many commands are done at once. I don't know about A.I stuff, but I *****ume the problem is related to the Hard setting. And at Hard, there is definitely more units on the map, more things going on.

there is pretty much nothing you can do about, it, except put the entire game in a .big format, like i recommended to Nuker, hopefully, once V6.0 comes out, it will be installed utilizing .big compression and the errors will disappear..........so bear with the reborn modding team, i promise u that the issues are being addressed! til then, best of luck to ya's.

Good mod, bro, but you need more unique build limit units.
How about an FCS Stealth tank with a one shot, one kill EM cannon (three shots, slow autoreload), a Mobius One Raptor Ace with a large store of missiles and battlefield loiter, maybe the Ground Control triple barreled Arty piece, or a Universal Soldier Battle Bus chock full of commandos. Or what about a general ability to drop UCAVs like the two, three or four X-45s to a specific location to loiter and drop bombs. Or what about a Chinese Land Ship, a Mega Super Overlord wink with battleship guns?

Or for the GLA...a human shield battalion, or protester storm, that automatically disarms the US side...Hanoi Jane, or Michael Moore, with an anti-propaganda tower effect. CNN reporters that automatically reveal the other side with Geraldo Riveria detailing the enemy battle plans wink. How about a Mullah, Ayatollah, whatever, that works like the US strategy center, but continously bleating out one of three or so sermons; with each sermon, your troops get more armor, more firepower, or more range.

Nuker, maybe you could arrange the Generals' Challenge campaign like this, You face all the Generals of a particular side, then the boss. So If you play as Townes, you fight Alexis, Granger, than Ironside so their are a USA section, a China Section, and a GLA Section. Just an idea.

i know you people have a lot of good ideas on your mind, but too bad no one's listening to these ideas that you suggest in this forum. this is nuker's mod, not ours. i know how nuker feels, reading all these comments about having a new unit, structure, or whatever else you wished to be added in; its a pain in the neck and it would give him a headache reading paragraphs of comments. so just post fixes or how to make this mod more efficient, but not new units and such cuz this is his mod. dont expect your ideas to be featured in the mod.

This patch is the bom. Truly sad that the stupid bugs don't go away even on a good day. Can't wait for version 6.0. For me it would suffice the thing to be just like 5.0 but without any bug.

i would say July at earliest to get a truly good quality mod so that he doesn't have to rush. anyways if he has any big update im sure he'll let us know.

on the bugs i mainly get them w/ CnC bush in the game. maybe its just me but who knows. otherwise i get few bugs unless i am trying to have 7 hard armies in the game and have kept my comp on for a few days

yea i saved up for awhile and bought all the parts seperate so i could get exactly what i wanted from it. the only prob is i dont know much bout sata cords so im using a crappy 10 gig or something hard drive to run just my system and everything else is on my 200 gig sata drive

hey nuker, the mod looks like it kicks arss. the only thing that i saw that looked off was thath it looked like there was a lot of lag. nuker, is it going to be like that in game. also i have a question about the ai of the factions you created. have you played against them and if so were they good. i hate it when you play a mod and they are way to easy. thank you nuker. your a great creator.

This was the only generals mod i could find that worked- i was so happy- it was a SICKENINGLY GOOD mod, but since then it has started crashing to the desktop with serious error messages- first after 2 hours of play, then 1hour, then 30 mins, now it happens evry 2-3 minutes, and unless i can find a solution i may have to kill myself, or, god forbid, install shockwave instead.........Cry frownfrown

I installed 6.0 Beta.

And as soon as 30 seconds have passed during a Skirmish game (any settings), my base, all my structures ... they explode, and all my units die suddenly for no reasons. Then, it says I've lost, but the game continues, and I can still observe the match between the A.I.

And to end with this: I noticed that the A.I for the Laser General is not enabled during Skirmishes. It does nothing at all.

Please Nuker, help / reply to this.

Hi again. To everyone, and especially to Nuker.

Mate, you don't even have any ideas about how bad I'd like to play 6.0 Beta.

You know why ?

Because I have a problem once a Skirmish (on any settings, official maps or not) starts. ALL my buildings, and ALL my units die all at once.

Then it says I've lost...BUT...the game resumes. As if I was a spectator.

And, finally, because I was a "spectator", I could notice that the A.I that belongs to the U.S.A Laser General did not seem to be activated or something similar. Its unit (the building truck) didn't moved once. It stayed still, doing nothing at all.

So, two problems for me, I'll repeat them:

1) Everything I build and/or train goes boom for no reasons after 1 to 2 minutes of game-play.

2) U.S.A Laser General's A.I might have a problem.

Please, I ask for help again releated to those problems that occurs in my case.

NOTE: Yes, it was a clean installation. I did un-install the previous version I had before installing 6.0 Beta.

Hi.

When Playing Generals Zero Hour Reborn, for awhile, the game flies. Then, it starts to pause. and then pause more and more and more, until you eventually have to tun off the game.

I've checked Task Manager, and there does not appear to be any othe programs chewing up the CPU.

Also, have another machine with identical game software installed ( Zero Hour / Reborn / patches ; OS is Advance Server vs 2000 Professional on problem machine )

Any ideas or thoughts?

Does this mod need some special patches or what? Been stuck erasing and uninstalling and installing about 5-10 times now wihout results so i've installed shockwave again because that's a great mod but it seems to need patch 1.03 to work too.Resistance is Futile!

good day... i have been playing the game Command&Conquer Reborn for
quite sometime now and its really amazing!! with the new upgrades i can
really ROCK!!Rock but unfortunately, i'm having problems when i'm
playing the campaign mode of the GLA and China... while playing China,
after the second to the last mission, i can't get to play the last b'coz it
always revert to my desktop followed by the message that it crashes
maybe due to hardware over heat or hardware didn't met the minimum system
requirements for the game or maybe due to bugs and viruses.. though i
tried to load the game as soon as i turn on my computer, it still revert
to my desktop followed by the same message warning.. and eventhough i
thoroughly scan my computer, then try to load the game afterwards, it
still says the same.. the same also happened after the first mission of
the GLA campaign.. i also experience the same when playing the skirmish
maps but when i try to load the game again,it turn out to be fine and i
get to finish it.. but it doesn't work with the China and GLA campaign
after the 2nd to the last mission and after the first mission
respectively..confused my sytem info by the way: Pentium IV 2.0GHZ, 256 DDRam, NVIDIA

right i have found out wat is causing the game to crash to the desktop, it happned to me 3-4 times until my spider bar told me that generals was draining all of the ram for its self, when it gets to the limit or is stoped by windows it crashes and the error mesage comes up sometimes it doesnt even load for me because of this problem, to solve this you need shut close all background programs that eat ram and start the game and hope it works and doesnt go on a hunger strike

*Ahem* This mod has done nothing but crash on me the 4 times I've tried it, about 15-20 minutes into it, or a new tech branch is opened up, it crashes. The balance issue isn't great aswell. I'm sick of the biased "SUPER USA ABOVE ALL" factor in a lot of mods. I'd say, if you're going to make a mod, don't be an idiot and hold biased opinions aside unless stated otherwise. Seriously, how can 4 rocket soldiers shoot so far across a battlefeild and take down half a base of defences? Shoot 10 projectiles at a time per RS?! Hmmm...Roll Eyes (sarcastic)Two Thumbs Down!

Don't even get me started on the other Super US problems..

Funny how people still download this mod even though it's 2 years old..... I LOVE THIS MOD!!!! (Except for the fact I couldn't use a couple units and it crashed on the custom maps.)

Just rush everyone as the helicopter general. I took out bases with just four helicopters if i attacked early on. This mod has been going downhill since version 1, I can't even get version 6 to run at all on my computer.

Generals Crashes right at the beginning with 6.0, so I'm sticking to 5.0 till 6.0 is final.

I think this is a bug in 5.0:
It's with General Ironside (and it doesn't matter what mode your in), and I THINK it's the Marine with the Chemical suit or one of the other upgrades in Stratagy Center and that causes when I build a Marine, for the game to crash.

Just putting that out there.

Well I have returned after a long time and needless to say I became bored of modding Zero Hour, however I have renewed interest now. I've been starting to pick up pace again and ask please dont flamethrower me to the point of glass. I would like someone to start a list of checks on WHAT actually crashes the game and any VERY unfair balances that need to be made. (And BTW artillery is supposed to have the realistic range in this mod so dont complain)

well this is odd, I remember you guys talking about the crashes like if you play for about an hour your game crashes.Well I played for 3 hours but it didn't crash.big grin

bugs (even the minor ones)confused
- the advanced cold fusion reactor in USA Assault general said that it would give 8 power but it only gave 5
- there's no info on the advanced crusader

-delta force marines cannot use ion cannon beacons
-leaflet drop and emergency repair don't show up at the sidebar(you can only use those using the command center)

saddam's scud storm has high armor and has high damage due to the nuclear warheads that can be upgraded there.
maybe the solution here is lowering the armor or increasing the cost of the upgrade because it only costs 4000 and a player who increased the starting money to 50000+ can easily buy that

I have read the recent coments and read there is a new one coming out but can someone please tell me a date when it comes out

There was only a few probs on mine they were

1. the game went really slow and the difficulty got higher

2. there is no info on the adv cruser

3. finally one of the GLA generals special powers dont work i forgot what it is but is one you get after the last promotion and its not the Jahad spirit (i think its call jahad?) one it is the other one

yeah ther is a serios bug with the ship yards i built a ship and it apperd on land!! and i could move it about on land but once it got in the water i think it carnt come out i sugest that you can onaly buid shipyards in the water also with the USA officer i think you should be onaly be abel to call in one of the super squads and onaly another when all are dead also the GLA air base should have a run way and be abel to hold 2

after a while of when i got this mod, the textures got like.... you kno, the ground got untextured for the custom maps, the cpu started crashing, the cpu lag on the custom map but not on the official map... good mod tho

IMO, This mod is perfect now. Asides from the crashes, its perfect. If nuker continues to add the other armies, it will be even better smile As I said, the worst thing about this mod is the crashes. I demand they be fixed now! big grin

hmm is it just me or can none on the U.S generals not build navy ships, i can never find away to build them with the US generals, i have not tried the other empires but, can someone tell me what empire (china, GLA, US) general has the abillity for navel units?

Ok i know this mod has been out over a year but recently i have started maknig my own minni mod just for fun and i had the same problem with choppyness leading to lag. Anyway 1 of the things i changed as the rate of fire on the gattling cannon; to about 100 msec. I noticed that whenever i had a large group of gattling cannons on the map shooting it started to lag, Anyway after testing many more things i found that having a too high fireing rate on any unit will lag. It doesnt matter wheather or not it has fire OCL's advanced particles or animations etc... Im sure this is not the full cause but i can assure you that decreasing the fireing rate on units will lessen the lag.
@UH60_BLACKHAWK -there is a prgram called Tibed. Its not the best but usefull

I like the mods in you file like the buldings and vehicles. But i also like the new buildings in zero hour retarded (big air field icbm missle etc) so i was wondering if you could either put these things into the next version or reborn or sned me instructions and or the full code for this type of mod. (ps i will give a full list of the things i want in the new mod if you reply. i also want to increase the missle damage like nukes simmiliar to retarded. Pls at lest put in the airfields that are new in retrded like the big and gla airfields. or if you can't do any of this send me the code and instructions on how to change missle damage and how to convert code so it will change from a text file to a program

As I said, there are some bugs with the USA`s generals (when I engage with the fighters at the ground targets). And some others but this is the single one I ran into it. Hope you guys will release a v6.0 to keep your first place. And make the China generals` tanks a little more bigger, they are too little.

Cool mod, not to many units but not to little, just perfect... great job!!!

I looked through the comments and there seems to be alot of people wanting the old generals back.. I do to, but i know that it creates problems putting them back, since when you had them in you couldn't have AI with the new generals. Would it be possible to have the old generals back without the AI then? Just so you can play them stick out tongue I miss the good ol' times with V4 when you had 21 generals to choose from, but i also like all the new things in this version. It's a little buggy, yes, but it has so many new stuff compared to V4. If it wasn't for the Rouge Generals I would go with V4 without hesitation, but they are so cool so I'll stick with this one for the time being. Can't wait for V6 to become a reality big grin

Ok heres the thing:

where are the other china and gla buildings? i can't get the:


CHINA- Gap Generators
CHINA- Reinforcement Pads
GLA- Burning Barricade
GLA- Gas Patriot

And i know you can't get the USA stuff until you build that drone thing but on all the GLA and China generals (apart from the navel yard) i can't get any of the above buildings Aaargh!!! What am i doing wrong confused

Cstick out tonguerogram FilesEA GamesCommand & Conquer The First DecadeCommand & Conquer(tm) Generals Zero Hour folder. Or where ever your Zero Hour folder is located within the C&C folder

This is a great mod. But when ever I use Bush, it crashes, Challenge and Skirmish.

The balance issues are insane. Many units seem impervious to defenses. It took ALL of my base defenses to take on 2 artilery tanks and 3 rocket guys that spit out 60 rockets a second.

Aswell, the AI builds 1000 faster than the player, and super weapons are instant for AI players, right when you just got your first war factory finished. I've also wiped out an entire base with just 2 Delta Force drops.

Infantry also seems to be hard to kill aswell. How can 1 rocket guy take out 4 tanks? Aswell as walk through 2 walls of base defense?

Also Delta Force snipers shouldn't be able to shoot building aswell as if they had 150mm shells.

Ive installed it to the zero hour folder but cant start it up cant see a new exe and the when i start zero hour up its just the stanard version, and I have nothing in the start up menue or all programs.

When i get about 10-15 min into the game it shuts down and says a serious error has occored.frown I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but it still won't work. Aaargh!!! If anyone knows how to fix this problem that would be greatly apprecited.smile

Okay, first, great mod! I have been playing this non stop all weekend, and only stopped to go to work! Loving the new units, and hoping that you can fix a few bugs. The only one that bothers me particularly is when you play the campaign and it crashes on certain levels. The same goes for skirmish when you build a certain unit on a certain team. Not sure which one, as it changes every time...
Anyhow, I am wondering what songs you guys put into the game. I recognize Hell March, but I am in the dark about any others. Can you assist me?

...I have an old version of Zero Hour (i cant even play online). I tried to update to 1.04,then 1.03, then 1.02 and then 1.01... None of them work!!! All of them don't work...
It says that crap "Old file not found..."
I have downloaded Destructive forces mode and Shockwave mod, but i can't use them... I only have the first (4.5mb) version of Reborn!!!

1.Why does the stupid message pop-up(old file not...)?

The only 3 things I want say is when your the rogue general you don't get the black hawk like it said and when you complete any mission on zero hour it crashes plus at some random time it would crash so could you fix those? Cheers

Why Osama bin Laden general has SCUD Storm Air Burst and Toxin Tractors with Anthrax Beta? And why do SCUD Launchers attack without releasing Anthrax? Good mod, but try filling these units with Anthrax Gamma when upgraded. Please put some units and their pictures from ShockWave 0.95.

Why the game crashes when I play as USA Commander in Chief and (sometimes) China Commander in Chief? Try fixing this. Try also complete the challenge missions. And why the game crashes while playing as GLA Campaign and China Campaign final mission?

Can Somebody please help me;

i'm using 'The First Decade' CD this includes all the C&C versions from the classics to Zero Hour, i downloaded the 5.0 Version & all i get is the Unofficial maps - i played this version in my local internet cafe & noticed these were the same maps as i played there but dont get to use the Army's i.e USA Rogue etc. so far all i have done is downloaded the Version twice, what else do i have to do??

Why is it everytime I play Zero hour Reborn, I always lost when I choose GLA? Why do we Moslems get the least and poorest weapons of all? We Moslems provide western countries especially America with their daily needed consumption of OIL...Yes OIL...Do you think if we dont supply you with OIL your war machines will function? Without OIL we can crush the war machines of America and China.

Why dont the programmers add a new superweapons to the GLA faction : OIL EMBARGO!!! With this superweapon, America and China wont be able to build war machines, only foot soldiers...hahahhahhaha!!! We'll see if you can defeat Osama Bin Laden and the GLA!!!!

Someday Arab world will dominate earth both in economy and military !!!!!
