Editors Note: This is NOT the game, Red Alert 3, but rather a mod for Zero Hour with the RA3 name. It actually converts Zero Hour to have the units/structures of RA2 Yuri's Revenge.

Red Alert 3 is a total conversion mod for Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour. Red Alert 3, as you might guess, is a mod that turns Generals into the Red Alert universe.

Red Alert 3 gives the player a chance to see Red Alert in a whole new light. The units of Red Alert are now crisp and clean thanks to General's great graphics engine. Not everything is here from the original, but players can still choose what countries they want to be. Germany still has tank destroyer, and France still has their cheap old "Grand Cannon". Red Alert 3 features full campaigns for each fraction, including Yuri. The side bar is back into play in the mod.

Although Red Alert 3 is like its original, it is still far different. Since the creators couldn't rewrite the entire game, Yuri's mind control units don't in essence mind control; all they do is kill the driver of the tank or kill the people inside a building to make it neutral. Once neutral, the object may be taken over by the player's forces. The maps in Red Alert 3 are decent and the full campaigns will having you playing for hours. Since this mod goes just a little bit over the top in violence, this must be added:

Sorry, but when the mod let's infantry get blown up into little chunks is where I draw the line for a rated "T" game.

  • Fun Factor- Red Alert 3 is extremely fun and addicting. You will get a kick from seeing your favorite Red Alert characters in the Gerneral's engine. Lag might be a problem online if your not careful. The extra particle effects is also an added bonus.
  • Balance- This mod could be a lot more balanced. The suicide trucks that Lybia has is actually a nuke when it blows up! Boris' air strike can be fired from all the way across the map and the list goes on! The modders did do a good job on unit-to-unit combat though. For example, if a rhino tank is up against a lasher, the rhino wins.
  • Creativity- I can't give the modders creativity kudos for this mod because all the units were all ready made; but because of the way they made Red Alert 2 units work [mind control, terror drone, ect.] they get some credit. Although sometimes the fixes can make the units unbalanced. For example, the terror drone can attack buildings now with pretty good results.

Once again I must bring about my expert opinion...

The mod is all in all quite decent, good fun. The quality of the artwork lacks, still. ALl in all it was a valiant effort, but not up to my highest expectations.

7/10, I commend you for the hard work and effort.

EA won't shut down a mod of one of their own games; especially when its a mod of another of their games. Why? Because it boosts their game's popularity.

As far as I know Halo is distributed by Microsoft Games Studio, it has nothing to do with Blizzard.

This is a preaty good mod. In my opinion the Soviet tanks need bigger turrets however and It sadens me that Kirov Airship and the Nuclear Missile aren't the superweapons they were in RA2. Other than that I like this mod.

I hope later versions (if any) have naval units. The Drednaught was absolutely fantastic. You should also give the Allies Iowa-Class Battleships. Every CnC game NEEDS Battleships.

Hey guys,

Sorry to say, but this Mod sucks!!! You could do much more thing to bring back the RA2 to Generals. You didn't used the whole potential of the ZH SAGE Engine. You didn't tried enough. So I wish you guys the best of luck for the next release. Two Thumbs Down!

The models have some strange animations and there is some bad coding stuff.

e. g. You can try to make a real working mind control. I guess it would work if they would use an projectile that hijacks the enemy unit. And espacialy the weather storm looks very ugly. That are some of the parts which hurt most...

But there are also some nice work: e.g. the bloody stuff. I never saw so much violence in any other mod! And the genetic mutation of Yuri is nice, too. Rock

Wow, thats different, the in-game play and visualisations are way different than the screenies.

The ony thing i don't like, is that kirovs don't have that face on the front of them, the one that looks like the are smiling, evily, with the eyes, but i love the propellers on the kirovs, they actually move!

Tesla coil- SWEET (it can kill mastermind tank in three shots)

Construction Vehicle- I love the way you build the buildings!

Rhino Tank- Toughest unit on the soveit side, even more powerful than apacolypse tank?

Conscript: Is he (they) supposed to walk like zombies? But i like them anyways.

now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the person who made the "Russian Invasion" mod moved his mod side of the russians to this mod and sombody else improved all the russian models?

over all, this mod is increadible and is very neat with the missions!

If I download and install, will it mess up modtoaster at all? I have shockwave in Generals without modtoaster and it doesn't effect it. Seeing how i doubt this will be on modtoaster, that work?

buy the fist decade it has all the cnc games C&C to Zero Hour and I men't that have the guy that made russion invasion mod have his buildings and scins for the russian side and have him make the allies and yuri, I whould not kare how long it would take I would only play that and shockwave 0.95 on mod toaster!!!!!!!RockRockRock

Just wondering if anyone can help me out? Like I said I keep trying to put it in every folder and what not available with no luck. For every single mod I have ever d/l I have always put it in Cstick out tonguerogram FilesEaGamesGenerals Zerohour but it won't work with this one. I keep getting a message saying, " error, needs to be extracted directly into your zero hour folder/directory" ???? How can I fix this to play this mod, help would be appreciated!

Generals.exe is the program that runs the game. In essence, it IS the game, with the other files simply giving it the materials to create a nice view that you then see.
Eg, replace a model for say the Scorpian. You replace the scorpian model file with the new one and alter any code that needs to be (Code is for the game to know what to do. Like where to find the models for the units etc, in file suchandsuch etc etc) the game will still work perfectly if done right and boom, you have the new model in)

Have to say, wierd mod. Don't know if this was for everyone but the Yuri units/buildings were just extra ones for the GLA and although the sidebar n all worked, it was the same for all 3 of the factions. Pretty much ruined the mod for me. Also, the models..some are good, some are awful. Like the Dreadnaught, it looks like a lump of plastic with the textures stretched over it. Don't know whether it is just a bad model or if the whole RA2 thing is not meant for Sage. I prefer to remember RA2 in it's graphics which seemed omg for its time. Putting them in Zh just made it clear how bad they were..

The serious error thing is when files are conflicting with each other, preventing the game to run basically. Most of the time this happens when mods are installed incorrectly or previous ones that were uninstalled left some files behind and so when you install the new mod, it conflicts with the old mod files that were left behind.

A fresh install of ZH should do it. Not reinstall, uninstall it and then install it again. And also wipe the ZH folder once you've uninstalled it, there will probably still be some mod files left behind.

Also happens with the game not patched correctly.

And if any one still is wondering about HaloGen, It was shutdown after talks with Microsoft. They didn't want (they ripped are idea) any Halo RTS mods.
If you remeber they also shut down the DOW mod for Halo.

I now this as i was a moddler and Websites Designer for Them

Does it work for C&CTFD? and Does it work for Window's Vista?

I'm not sure how to do this, (because i'm new at downloading mods) and whenever I try to download it , it says that the mod has to be installed directly into the folder, also I have a vista and C&CTFD (command and conquer the first decade) so it probably won't work for that. If it doesn't all I have to say is Darn, because the vista wont let me play RA2 or Yuri's (my two all time favorite games from C&C) and it will only let me play renegade or generals (zero hour) so if it works for Generals then I can play again!

I changed the location of the game to my desktop i did that to try to make modding easier, I probably just made it waaaaay more complicated

For the amount of work that has to be done in order to remodel artwork, restructure code, balance, and incorporate RA2 designs from one game engine to the next, this is definitely a well done mod that obviously required days of work. The only cut-down to the mod is the half-done artwork. But that's not that bad, just a few tweaks from an experienced modder could smooth out context, blend in color, and bring out a shine. keep it up!

RA2 and YR work on vista just press the shortcut with right button and there the thing thats on bottom then on that thing click in the middle of the things in the up and there click "run this as administratoR"

Believe me I've waited for Red Alert 3 for years, however I tend to think that most of the games (I haven't played The newest C&C games) made post Generals tend to be lagging on the game play end. In my opinion Red Alert 2 is the epitomy of RTS creations due to it's fast paced actions and control to support such situations. However now I tend to see (this is starting with generals obviously) that the games tend to be more slow paced and the need for that being the controls are no longer based on a side panel. The clicking on each building to depoly it's factions is a significant waste of time and I have noticed no problems with the side panel option it has worked for this gaming phenominon thus far. Also the unit building list is now limited to 9...this is ridiculus I can't explain how annoying it is to have to revist my base every 9 units, it takes much to long to build a sizable force or even bring reinforcements. Since by the time they run there all my other units are dead so it's pretty much starting from scratch. On a final note the grafics are awesome however I for one am not in favor of sacrificing gameplay for grafics. I'm not playing the game to be bored, and it kind of defeats the purpose of video games.

I love the part of "Infantry being blown up into little chunks"
But i doubt people under 15 will take damage from it.
I mean, i played UT (Original) when i was around 8 or something, where you could see heads and skulls being blown right off the shoulders, and legs and arms ripped away from the rest of the body, and hear the males scream in agony when they got fragged, and I consider myself pretty much nonviolent stick out tongue

overall this mod is impressive, though there is still alot more work to be done (the chro legionaires still walk, the rocketeeers have no animation, neither do the harriers when they're attacking, the prism towers don't power each other up etc.) but still I think this mod was still very well done and the building look exactly like they did in RA2 (if a little untextured in some parts) but still it seems you got everything accurately all the way down to the price from the original RA2, the vehicles all look awesome, and i also like how you used the same sound settings from RA2 (even though they do still have sound settings for when they die besides just exploding). but overall i give this mod an 8/10 and look forward to seeing a completed mod

It really worth a download.

I should say that this is RA3 but I think you should say 'Red Alert 2:Remaster'.

The models and textures looks so CUTE!stick out tongue When it is 3D and funny.

Anyway it worth a download.
